About Us

The club was founded in 2019 by Saumya Narang when she was in seventh grade. Following the Parkland school shooting, in South Florida, mental health became a topic that is important to her. She noticed all of the stress her peers were inflicted by at her own school and took it upon herself to find ways to help them combat stress and created the Shanti Club. Today, the Shanti Club is expanding across schools in Florida to help students understand mental illness and learn ways to rise above it.

Mental health among children is one of those issues that is often stigmatized or swept under the rug. Parents' unrealistic expectations, tiresome hours, and lengthy curricula all harm students' mental health. Shanti Club, a student-run organization, aims to help adolescents overcome stress and anxiety through Yoga, laughter therapy, affirmations, and art therapy.
